PIRATES! AT CML
Climb aboard and step back in time to the Golden Age of Pirates in the Carolinas. The adventure begins with a search for buried treasure and ends with walking the plank. In between, young swashbucklers can hoist the main sails of the CML Pirate Ship, dress in pirate's garb, explore the pirate brig (jail) or climb to the top of the crow's nest and search the horizon for approaching vessels.
Pirates!, the new feature exhibit at the Children's Museum of the Lowcountry opens Tuesday, July 7th at 10:30 a.m.. Visit WHAT'S NEW to learn how you can be a part of the Pirates! Grand Opening!
PLEASE NOTE: The Lowcountry Shrimp Boat exhibit will be CLOSED June 29 - July 5 for the Pirates! installation. Please use all detours safely. We apologize for any inconvenience.

This year, Sir Antsalot, created by local artist, Jeffrey Kennedy and donated by Dolphin Architects and Builders, sets out on a series of adventures throughout the Museum. Won't you join him? That loveable GIANT ant, who makes his home in the CML Art Room, will serve as our very own ambassador of fun introducing children to new ways of playing and learning in each CML exhibit.
In July and August, Sir Antsalot takes to high seas and joins the crew of the new Pirates! exhibit. Throughout July, explore a day in the life of a pirate with Sir Antsalot. In August, Sir Antsalot explores the deep sea. Click HERE to check out the July Programs calendar.

The Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry (CML) is Charleston’s first hands-on learning environment designed just for children ages 3 months to 12 years and their families. Since opening its doors on September 21, 2003, more than 450,000 visitors have explored the museum’s eight interactive exhibits, ranging from a full-scale shrimp boat to an area just for infants and toddlers. CML is the perfect family destination—many parents seize the opportunity to be a kid again and discover the exhibits with their child(ren), and each exhibit offers something for children of any age.
